ONE MORE WEEK

It is amazing how time goes so fast! I am just finishing up my level II in the Eled program, there is only one more week and I can't wait! I have loved being in the schools and interacting with the students. I really enjoyed the older grades which was a surprise to me. I thought I preferred  the younger ones, but when I was in my practicum I found myself more relaxed and comfortable with the older students. At least I can teach up to 8th grade:) It feels great to have this accomplished and to be moving on to level III in the Fall semester with my student teaching in the Spring! I will be graduating in exactly one year from this May!

I will be working full time this summer which will be crazy going back to so many hours when I have been working only 12 hours a week right now. It will be an adjustment to get use to. Brandt is really busy with work which is a blessing in our life and we keep praying for work so we will stay busy all summer long. He was able to get the roof on the woodshed and it is looking better every time I look at it. I am hoping to work on it a little bit more this weekend if we can. I will post more pictures when I get them added on the computer.

I have started to work on our front flower bed by the front porch and it is looking so cute! All that I have done so far is build the dirt up and add some soil that is supposed to break down the clay and make it easier for things to grow. I have to wait a week before I can actually plant any flowers, so that is my plan on Friday:) I hope the weather is awesome for me to be able to.

Woodshed

Rocking the IFA hat that my dad got me:) Love the way it fits! Thanks for the hat dad.

What a stud!
We staked out where we wanted to build our woodshed. We also planned where we will be moving our dog kennel and we will be cementing that as well. I can't wait for things to continue to get organized! I love the feeling of accomplishing our goals! I enjoy having a husband who wants to build and make things nice for us!
Our neighbor Scott was extremely helpful in digging our holes for the posts. He spent his Saturday morning with us instead of helping his wife babysit their nephew. THANKS Scott!

It was interesting to see the different type of soil that was in each of the  spots that we dug.  Our first hole we dug took a really long time and it got stuck in the ground! We had to get the other tractor to pull it out. It was a pain in the butt it took us two hours on one hole! I kept think that it was going to be a long day if all the holes were going to be this difficult. Thankfully the next three went a lot faster! The soil or clay I should call it wasn't  as dry. We are built on  a solid foundation of clay that is hard as rock! Our garden is going to be an interesting adventure to do this year.

My upper body is feeling the affects of carrying the posts with Brandt and then holding them in place while we cemented them in the ground. I really need to start working out so I am not this sore again!

This was my first time mixing cement and I really like doing it this way it was way easy and nice. I was able to mix it all by myself while Brandt made the other holes bigger.

Once we had all the holes dug we started to measure the frame  of the shed to make sure it was square... our holes weren't right on as they should have been so we had to dig two of the holes out even more to make the building square. It worked out great though!

Our kitties decided to come out and join us while we were cementing the posts. They were so fun to watch as they jumped on the tractors and Griz jumped on the post I was holding to chase a bug that had flown on the post. They make for great laughs in our lives:)

Getting Organized

It has been awhile since I have updated things:) We are working on getting our yard and garage organized and I have loved being able to help Brandt and learn how to use cutting tools! Brandt says I make him nervous when I use the power tools. The more I use them the better I will become.

Shelves are the best way to organize!

My husband is sure a handyman:)

My Hubby and Me

Even though we have been married over 3 years I thought I would use these pictures for my school assignment. Considering all my other pictures aren't on this computer.

I am still trying to figure out how to position pictures! Sorry it looks so funny!

Water Fun

Well this will be interesting starting our blog, I have to do one for one of my classes so I might as well do it about Brandt and I. Oh boy!:) Today was quite interesting we woke up with it raining and  everything is a complete mud hole! I then received a text from my sister in law and the canal was breaking because of all the water and was heading straight for their house! We went up and Brandt was on the backhoe making trenches in the canal to let some of the water run into the pasture away from the house. Here are a couple of pictures of the events that took place...
